Costs

Most Solicitors work on hourly rates and the client is required to pay a substantial amount of money on account. Rather than work on an hourly rate, a fixed fee will ordinarily be agreed. Therefore, the client knows exactly how much it will cost, regardless of whether it takes longer than expected. Many Residential Landlord & Tenant Documents and Services are available here at fixed prices. For any other matter, prices will be agreed individually and in advance.

One of the main advantages of instructing a Barrister directly is the cost saving to the client. Because Barristers' overheads are substantially lower than those of a Solicitor, these savings can be passed on to the client.

Furthermore, I can advise the client on undertaking many of the tasks that a Solicitor would ordinarily charge for. Simple examples would be writing letters, photocopying, obtaining information and the completion of simple forms.

It will generally cost substantially less to go directly to a Public Access Barrister, than having to instruct a Solicitor who instructs a Barrister.
